A valid species, Tenthredo (Tenthredella) araxana Mocsáry, 1909 .
TYPES. Tenthredo Araxana [sic!] Mocsáry, 1909: 38. Syntype (s) Ƥ, “Caucasus: Vallis fluminis Araxes”. 1Ƥ syntype “Caucasus Araxesthal” [= Aras valley, most likely near Ordubad, Azerbaijan] examined.
DISCUSSION. The current placement of the taxon needs to be checked in the course of a revision of Tenthredella Rohwer, 1910 , as there seem to be several very similar species in the Holarctic region. Morphologically the syntype is very similar to Central European specimens of Tenthredo atra Linnaeus, 1758 . The differences in colour are also minor. The main difference is the colour of the first tergite that is laterally white in araxana but black in atra . Muche (1973) treated araxana as a subspecies of atra .
