[The name of the type species is a junior primary homonym preoccupied by Musca gibba Müller, 1776: 175 and M. gibba Rossi, 1794: 73 . Curtonotum taeniatum Hendel, 1913: 629 View in CoL was accepted as the replacement name by Thompson and Pont (1993)].
