Genus Askoella Fenchel, 1965: 292

Ciliates parasiting the cuticle of crustacean hosts. The life cycle includes only trophont stage. Trophonts are mobile, with oval, flat body. The ciliature is arranged in arched ciliary rows on the edges of the body. The cytostome placed at apical end of the body and provided with some kineties and the rosette. Macronucleus is Ushaped.
