Material examined. St 14, 09/11/2009, 10h–12h, La Prudente bank, 12°38'50.68"S, 44°58'41.93"E, coll. KUW fieldwork, scuba diving 15–17 m, sediment suction pump, sandy bottom, coral boulders, 1 male (LC 3.6 mm, LT 22 mm), 1 ovigerous female (LC 3.4 mm, LT 19.6 mm), MNHN-Na 15994.

Colouration (fig. 6). Body transparent, covered with minute red spots, tips of antennal scales and legs, eyestalks and distal part of abdomen reddish, with more red spots.

Distribution. Type locality Mombassa, Kenya. Also known from Madagascar, Mayotte, Mozambique, Seychelles, Maldives Islands, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Ryukyu Islands, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Western Australia, Society Islands, Tuamotu.

Remarks. The specimens agree well with the previous descriptions and illustrations. The species was not previously recorded with certainty from Mayotte, although it was recorded from Madagascar and Mozambique. This is the first time to report the colouration of the species.
