Material examined. St 20b, 12/11/2009, 9h–12h, islet M'tzamboro, 12°39'30.18"S, 45° 0'42.76"E, coll. KUW fieldwork, scuba diving 10–15 m, collapsed edge reef, sandy slope pronounced, 2 males (LC of one, 2.4 mm), 1 female (female lost its both second pereiopods, males lost right or left second pereiopods (major?), one of male and female rostrum reaching end of antennular peduncle, another male (lost right second pereiopod) only reaching end of first segment of antennular peduncle; dactyli of ambulatory pereiopods with 3–4 long propodal spine along distal third of ventral margin), MNHN-Na 17578.

Distribution. Type locality Ambon, Menado, Indonesia. Also known from Kenya.

Remarks. The specimens agree well with the original descriptions and illustrations of Holthuis (1952). The species was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty. The female specimen of MNHN-Na 17578 was collected together with those Cuapetes nilandensis of MNHN-Na 17577.
