Type Locality: Duke of York Isl, between New Britain and New Ireland ( New Hebrides, = Vanuatu).

Vernacular Names: Angulate Pipistrelle.

Distribution: New Guinea; Bismarck Arch.; Bougainville Isl and Solomon Isls; adjacent small islands.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 – Not listed (lapsus); IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Pipistrellus . Included in tenuis by Koopman (1993, 1994), but see Kitchener et al. (1986). Also see Flannery (1995 a, b) and Bonaccorso (1998).
