Use.

Stem: The rhizome is used as a carminative.

Notes.

Medicinal uses of this species in India are discussed in Jain and DeFilipps (1991) as follows: The rhizome is used for cough, stomachache, asthma; as a vermifuge; and on leprosy and other skin diseases. The plant (part unspecified) is also used for mucus in the urine, bronchitis, and for asthma (in combination with several other species).
