Discussion: Lundholm (1955 a:285) described Carpitalpa and Kilimatalpa (here included in Chrysochloris ) as subgenera within Chlorotalpa . Simonetta (1968) afforded Carpitalpa generic rank. Included in Amblysomus by Petter (1981 a:50) and in Chlorotalpa by Meester (1974) and Meester et al. (1986:20).
