Comments. The morphological characteristics observed in these specimens allow them to be classified in the genus Monoecocestus i.e., single genitalia; genital pores irregularly alternate; internal and external seminal vesicles present; pyriform apparatus present ( Beveridge 1994). Among species with genital pores irregularly alternate, Monoecocestus sp.1 differs from Monoecocestus andersoni Haverkost & Gardner, 2010 , Monoecocestus machadoi ( Rêgo, 1964) , Monoecocestus mackiewiczi Schmidt & Martin, 1978 , Monoecocestus microcephalus Haverkost & Gardner, 2010 , Monoecocestus minor Rêgo, 1960 , M. myopotami and Monoecocestus sininterus Haverkost & Gardner, 2010 by testes number, and from Monoecocestus eljefe Haverkost & Gardner, 2010 and Monoecocestus diplomys Noble & Tesh, 1974 by size of scolex, suckers and eggs.
