Type Locality: Colombia, Cauca, 40 mi. (64 km) west of Popayan, crest of Western Andes, 10,340 ft. (3150 m).
Vernacular Names: Western Colombian Small-eared Shrew.
Distribution: S Cordillera Occidental of Colombia and Ecuador.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: C. thomasi group.
