Genus Cylindrobulla Fischer, 1857 View in CoL
Type species: Cylindrobulla beauii Fischer, 1857 .
Diagnosis. Small slugs with thinly calcified, external shells and bi-lobed cephalic shields. Rasping radular teeth with a broad base and several denticles; usually square shaped, but never elongate as in all other sacoglossan species. In contrast to former descriptions and definitions, all recent investigations of Cylindrobulla species indicate the presence of an ascus, but this lies hidden within the pharyngeal musculature ( Marcus 1972; Jensen 1989; new and unpublished data of HW).
