Subspecies Presbytis comata subsp. fredericae Sody 1930

Distribution: W and C Java ( Indonesia).

Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Endangered as P. comata, Data Deficient as P. fredericae .

Discussion: Formerly called P. aygula , but see Napier and Groves (1983) who showed that aygula is a nomen oblitum for Macaca fascicularis . Brandon-Jones (1984) considered fredericae to be a separate species.
