The next clade going down the tree represents the tribe Pseudothelphusini (node 6). The most important diagnostic characters based on the first male gonopod supporting this grouping are: gonopod with proximal two-thirds depressed or cylindrical, and with the distal third compressed (character 34); presence (character 35) and position (character 36) of a strong constriction on the distal third of the latero-caudal surface of the gonopod; apical cavity divided by a central crest (character 39), straight or rounded (character 40); and the torsion of the distal third of the gonopod towards the median axis of the sternum (character 44). This combination of characters is only present in the pseudothelphusines, and supports the new classification proposal.
