Arrenurus tubulator (O. F. Müller, 1776)
Arrenurus globator tubulator Viets, 1956
Material examined: 10 larvae deriving from 10 females.
Larvae very similar to those of A. globator , virtually indistinguishable. Idiosoma 200–230 µm long.
Dorsum: Dp egg-shaped (DpL: 192–220 µm; DpW: 150–184 µm); anterior margin almost straight; posterior margin rounded. Antero-lateral indents very small, 1/5 and 1/7 of plate’s width and length, respectively. DpW/Mp1-Mp1 3.6. Lp2, Mh1 smooth. Mp1-Mp1 (46–50 ųm) about equal length to Mp2-Mp2 (49–50 µm). Venter: CpI:CpII:CpIII ratio 1.9:1:1.2. All setae on Cp smooth. C1-CpIm (13–17 µm) about 2/3 of C4-CpIIIm (21–25 µm). C1-C2 intermediate length (46–47 µm), but longer in A. globator . Expp rhomboid, clearly wider than long. Exp located somewhat below plate’s mid-point, about level with E2. Palps: PIII 1 bipectinate. Chelicerae: Basal segment curved cylinder-shaped (66–70 µm), margins parallel. Legs and leg chaetotaxy like A. globator . Hosts: Dixidae , Culicidae ( Stechmann 1976 /77, 1978).
