Amphinemura reni Du & Zhao View in CoL , sp. nov.
Type material: Holotype, 1♂, China, Taiwan Province , Ali Mountain, 2200–2500m, 2012-X-23, leg. Ren Shun- Xiang ( ICYZU) . Paratypes, 5♂♂, 1♀, the same data as the holotype ( ICYZU).
Adult habitus: Head, antennae dark brown; pronotum dark brown. Cervical gills highly branched. Wings hyaline, veins slightly brown. Legs brown ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
Male: Forewing length 6.2–6.8 mm, hind wing 5.0– 5.6 mm. Tergum 9 sclerotized, concaved at median of anterior margin, forming a small mid-posterior indention, with spines laterally. Tergum 10 sclerotized mostly, forming a membranous concavity below the epiproct, with few small spines laterally ( Fig. 2A, D View FIGURE 2 ). Hypoproct broad basally, tapering toward the tip; vesicle slender, length 4 × width ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Paraproct divided into 3 lobes, inner lobe slightly sclerotized, simple; median lobe sclerotized, broad basally, narrowed from the median to the apex, with a row of spines near the tip, apical connected with the tip of outer lobe, with several spines apically; outer lobe sclerotized, slightly broad and curved medially ( Fig. 2C, D View FIGURE 2 ). Epiproct short and wide with a slight apical concave, dorsal sclerite membranous mostly, sclerotized basally, inflated apical extending to ventral; lateral arm slender, darkly sclerotized; ventral sclerite sclerotized, broad basally, forming a median keel-shaped ridge, bearing two rows of spines ventrally, tip of the keel reaching over dorsal sclerite forming a round and blunt projection ( Fig. 2A, D View FIGURE 2 ). Cerci membranous, with setae.
Female: General pattern and coloration of females similar to males ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ). Forewing length 7.0 mm, hindwing length 6.5 mm. Sternum 7 with a semicircular pregenital plate, slightly sclerotized and slightly overlapping anterior of sternum 8. Sternum 8 forms a trapezoidal subgenital plate with a slight medial indentation. Paragenital plate forming a pair of dark stick-like sclerites, extending to sternum 7 and concaved inward slightly near the tip ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Paraprocts and cerci brownish.
Etymology: The specific epithet refers to the collector of type species.
Remarks: The new species is similar to A. flavinotus Shimizu, 1997 in epiproct with a slight concave near the tip and ventral sclerite forming a median keel-shaped ridge with spines, but quite distinct from A. flavinotus and other known species on the connected median lobe and outer lobe of paraproct. The paraproct median lobe of A. reni broad basally, but narrowed from the median to the apex with a row of spines near the tip and the outer lobe strongly sclerotized, slightly broad and curved medially without apical spines, while in A. flavinotus the apex of median lobe round and blunt and the outer lobe extending upward with 2 or 3 spines at the tip. Additionally, the slender, darkly sclerotized lateral arm and blunt projection over the apex of epiproct in A. reni are also different from the triangular tip of keel in A. flavinotus .
