Genus: Physokermes Targioni Tozzetti View in CoL View at ENA
Type species: Coccus hemicryphus Dalman.
The genus Physokermes currently contains 13 species, of which eight occur in the Palearctic Region ( Kozar et al. 2012; García Morales et al. 2016). In the adult female, anal plates are absent, and antennae and legs are reduced; but well-developed antennae, legs and anal plates are present in the immature stages (Williams & Kosztarab 1972; Kozar et al. 2012). In Türkiye, two species are known ( Ülgentürk 2016), one of which was collected in Ankara during this study.
