Types. Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Zhouzhi County, Hei River, 33.88°N, 108.09°E. August 13, 2005, from Pistacia chinensis Bunge (Anacardiaceae) , coll. Xue, Xiao-Feng and Song, Zi-Wei. Paratypes, 7 females and 5 males, with the same data as holotype; 10 females, China: Heilongjiang Province, Jingbo Lake, 43.52°N, 128.54°E. July 28, 2006, from Pistacia chinensis Bunge (Anacardiaceae) , coll. Xue, Xiao-Feng and Song, Zi-Wei.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology. The specific designation zhouzhis is from the name of location of the mites were collected.
Remarks. This species is similar to Tetra louguantais Xue, Song & Hong, 2006 , but can be differentiated by dorsal annuli with microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in T. louguantais ), prosternal apodeme present (prosternal apodeme absent in T. louguantais ), median, admedian and submedian lines present (prodorsal shield smooth in T. louguantais ).
