Type locality. Japan, Kamakura , eastern Sagami bay, central Honshű .
Type material. ANSP 56881 View Materials , syntype .
Distribution. Japan ( Pilsbry 1895; Kuroda & Habe 1952; Higo et al. 1999; Higo et al. 2001).
Remarks. The genus Triforis is of feminine gender, therefore the name should be Triforis purpurata . Kuroda et al. (1971) considered Triforis purpurata Pilsbry, 1895 a junior synonyms of Triphoris conspersa E.A. Smith, 1875 .
