Type material. Holotype: ♂ with larval and pupal exuviae, Brazil, São Paulo, São Carlos, Fazzari reservoir, 47°53`08``W – 21°58`07``S, xi.2004, L.M. Fusari — LEIA. GoogleMaps

Diagnostic characters. A. fusariae sp. n. differs from other species by combination of the following characters: Male —expanded megaseta, anal point present, aedeagal complex with with two types of blades aedeagal, smooth and grooved and with only 1 dorsal lobe; Pupa —morphology of anal lobe; Larva —head capsule expanded, ligula teeth in concave arch, dorsal pore present, projections postoccipital margin absent, procercus with 7 anal setae, posterior parapods with all claws yellow.

Etymology. Named after Dra. Lívia Maria Fusari, in recognition for her friendship and continuous support.

Male (n =1): Dimensions: Wing length/length of profemur 2.26.

Coloration ( Figs 29A–E View FIGURES 29 , 30A View FIGURES 30 ): wings and abdomen follow figures 29A and 29E. Legs: P I, P II —femora with 1 band, tibiae without bands; P III —femora without bands, tibiae with 3 bands. Ratio of bands, related tibiae and tarsomeres 1 follow table 22. Hypopygium: gonocoxite brown and gonostylus yellow.

Head: antenna with 14 flagellomeres; AR 2.70; apical flagellomere 131µm long and subapical seta 25 µm long; temporals 30; postoculars 14; coronal triangle 214 µm long and base 122 µm; clypeus bearing 31 setae, 75 µm long and 81 µm wide; labrum with 3 setae, 94 µm long and 52 µm wide; tentorium 206 µm long; cibarial pump 269 µm long and orifice 68 µm from apex; palpomeres 1–5: 54; 82; 143; 137; 262 µm long; palpomere 3 with sensilla capitata 40 µm from base.

Wing ( Fig. 29A View FIGURES 29 ): width/lenght 0.32; VR 0.81; C 1.59 mm long; Sc 0.86 mm long; m-cu 38 µm long and 487.5 µm from arculus; fr 600 µm from arculus; R 3 apex close to C; brachiolum with 3 setae; squama with 39 setae.

Legs ( Fig. 29B–D View FIGURES 29 ): P I —apex of tibia 55 µm wide and with apical pectinated spur 71 µm long, spur ratio 0.54; tarsomeres 1–2 with 1 or 2 pseudospurs 67–73 µm long. P II —apex of tibia 55 µm wide and with 2 apical pectinated spurs 62 and 49 µm long, spur ratio 0.70 and 0.69 respectively. P III —apex of tibia 56 µm wide and with 2 apical pectinated spurs 65 and 52 µm long, spurs ratio 0.50 and 0.53 respectively. Lengths and proportions of leg segments table 23.

Hypopygium ( Fig. 30A–D View FIGURES 30 ): tergite IX with 1 central seta; anal point completely covers the aedeagal complex; phallapodeme 54 µm long; sternapodeme 131 µm long; gonocoxite 189 µm long and 122µm wide; gonostylus 191 µm long, with 11 apical teeth; expanded megaseta; HR 0.99. Aedeagal complex: grooved aedeagal blade 55 µm long, base 11 µm, 9/10 6 µm; pointed dorsal lobe, 34 µm long and base 19 µm; lateral lobe and basidorsal lobe present.

Female: Unknown.

Pupa: Dimensions: male abdomen 4.61 mm long.

Coloration ( Fig. 31A–E View FIGURES 31 ): exuviae brown, wing sheath without spots.

Cephalothorax ( Fig. 31A, B View FIGURES 31 ): wing sheath 1.31 mm long and without veins; thoracic horn 505 µm long and 305 µm wide, lumen with hexagonal pattern, spines present on the base and border, apex of aeropyle tube clubshaped; thoracic comb with 7 conical teeth.

Abdomen ( Fig. 31C–E View FIGURES 31 ): shagreen as small spines in arc, present in A I–VIII and on the anal lobe; scar in A I 200 µm long; A IV chaetotaxy follow figure 31C, dorsal pore between setae D 3 and D 5; A VII with 4 lateral setae, LS 1 263µm long; A VIII with 5 lateral setae, LS 1 150 µm long; anal lobe 742 µm long, base 433 µm wide, with 2 anal macrosetae, LS 1 254 µm long, LS 2 292 µm long, outer border without spines and long distal ends with hook; genital sac shorter than the anal lobe, 379 µm long; GS/AL 0.51.

Larva: Dimensions: head capsule 938 µm long and 875 µm wide.

Coloration ( Fig. 32A–D View FIGURES 32 ): head capsule yellow; postoccipital margin brown; ligula teeth brown; procercus brown; posterior parapod with claws yellow.

Abdomen ( Fig. 32D View FIGURES 32 ): procercus 381 µm long and 38 µm wide, 7 anal setae 1000 µm long; supraanal seta simple and 308 µm long; supraanal seta lenght/ anal setae lenght 0.31; posterior parapods with 14 simple claws, with the serrated slightly sides, claw with truncated base present, tip of posterior parapods with spines.
