Phlaeothrips Haliday View in CoL

Twenty five species are placed in this genus (Mound 2012), however specimens are not known for many of these names ( Hoddle et al. 2012). In Iran, only P. coriaceus Haliday has been recorded (zur Strssen 2003), based on two females beaten from shrubs by W. Wittmer in 1970. In addition to Iran, the species is recorded widely across Europe ( Priesner 1964) and also in California ( Hoddle et al. 2012). No specimens have been examined by the present author.
