Positive for esculin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, urease and oxidase, but negative for arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, glucose fermentation, indole production and nitrate reduction in API 20NE. N -Acetyl-glucosamine, L-arabinose, D-glucose, D-maltose, D-mannitol, D-mannose and potassium gluconate are utilized. Does not utilize adipic acid, capric acid, malic acid, phenylacetic acid and trisodium citrate.
