Diagnosis. Ancylosis albicosta can be distinguished by the forewing with a wide white costal band ( Han et al. 2025). The male genitalia are similar to those of A. oblitella ( Zeller, 1848) , but can be distinguished by the narrow, lingulate gnathos, which is about 1/3 the length of the uncus, and the elongate slender aedeagus. The female genitalia are similar to those of A. roscidella ( Eversmann, 1844) , but differ in the distinctly rounded anterior portion of the corpus bursae, and the forewing pattern of A. albicosta differs from those aforementioned species.

Remarks. The species has been recently reported from Habahu Nature Reserves and Shapotou Nature Reserves ( Han et al. 2025).

Distribution. China ( Ningxia, Xinjiang), Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, North-west Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine.
