( Figs 5 View FIGURES 5–10 , 11 View FIGURES 11–15 , 16 View FIGURES 16–19 )

Cornigerula bulganella Roesler, 1970: 103 . TL: Ömnögovi Aimak, Mongolia.

Staudingeria bulganella ( Roesler, 1970) View in CoL , Roesler 1973: 514, fig 230.

Ancylosis bulganella ( Roesler, 1970) , Nuss et al. 2003 –2025.

Material examined. 2♂ 3♀, CHINA, Ningxia: Shapotou, Zhongwei , 1202−1780 m, 29.VI.2021, 5−12.VII.2022, leg. HH Li et al., H Sun & ZL Tao, gen. slide Nos. GLZ25065 ♀, GLZ25071 ♀, GLZ25081 ♀, GLZ25082 ♂.

Diagnosis. Ancylosis bulganella can be distinguished externally by the forewing scales with metallic luster. The male genitalia are similar to those of A. citrinella ( Ragonot, 1887) , but characterized by the elongate triangular uncus 2.5 times as long as the maximum width, the tongue-shaped broad gnathos with curved apex and the aedeagus straight. In A. citrinella the triangular uncus is 1.8 times as long as the maximum width, the slender gnathos is hookshaped and the aedeagus is curved. The female genitalia of A. bulganella well differ from those of A. citrinella in the elliptical corpus bursae without cone-shaped spines.

Redescription. Adult ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5–10 ). Wingspan 18.5−19.5 mm.

Head. Vertex yellowish brown mixed with white, frons protruded forward.Antenna with scape yellowish brown mixed with some white, 1.5 times as long as wide, flagellum alternated with dark brown and white rings. Labial palpus yellowish brown mixed with white, reaching vertex, segment II 3 times as long as segment III, segment III short, straight.

Thorax. Mesonotum, patagia, tegulae yellowish brown mixed with white. Forewing ground color yellowish brown mixed with white and black scales with metallic luster, postmedial line white, thin, sometimes indistinct, antemedial line and discocellular spot absent, terminal line pale yellow, fringe yellowish brown. Hindwing grayish brown, darker at terminal margin, terminal line brown, fringe white. Legs with white at inner surface yellowish brown mixed with white at outer surface.

Abdomen. Brown, lighter at both apexes.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11–15 ). Uncus slender, elongate triangular, 2.5 times as long as maximum width, pointed at apex. Gnathos broad tongue-shaped with curved apex, about 2/3 length of uncus. Transtilla small punctate. Valva long and narrow, 6 times as long as wide, parallel sided, apex rounded; clasper lamella-shaped, situated at median 1/2 of the valva; costa narrow banded, reaching tip of costal margin of valva; sacculus narrow banded, about 2/3 length of valva. Juxta U-shaped, twice as long as wide. Vinculum rectangular, 1.5 times as long as wide, anterior margin concave medially. Aedeagus straight tubular, narrowed medially. Eighth sternum triangular with medially convex posterior margin.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 16–19 ). Papillae anales small, triangular. Eighth tergum heart-shaped, with anterior margin concave medially, posterior margin convex medially. Anteriores apophyses longer than posteriores apophyses. Antrum funnel-shaped. Ductus bursae long, slender, 2.5 times as long as corpus bursae, thin at distal part and gradually widened towards the proximal part. Corpus bursae elliptical and without cone-shaped spines.

Distribution. China ( Ningxia), Mongolia.
