Diagnosis. Ancylosis oblitella is similar to A. roscidella ( Eversmann, 1844) externally, but can be distinguished by the more distinct white serrated antemedial and postmedial lines. The male genitalia are characterized by the small triangular uncus 1.5 times as long as wide, and pointed at apex, the long sacculus about 2/3 the length of the valva, the long juxta twice as long as wide, and the aedeagus broad and short. In A. roscidella , the uncus is twice as long as wide, with obtusely rounded apex, the sacculus is about 1/2 the length of the valva, the length of the juxta is equal to the width, and the aedeagus is thin and long.

The most significant distinguishing features of the female genitalia are the broad ductus bursae and the rounded corpus bursae with densely distributed cone-shaped and snowflake-shaped spines.

Distribution. Northern Palaearctic Region (Europe, Central Asia to Far East, and Northern China: Beijing, Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Xinjiang).
