Diagnosis
Length 30–63 mm, D. 2–2.5 mm, no. of segments 110–120. Pigmentation brownish. First dorsal pore in 5/6. Clitellum 13–20. ♀ 14 paired before setae a–a. Prostatic pores 17, 19, genital field oblong. Spermathecal pores 7/8, 8/9, spermathecae with elongated ampoule, and an equally long duct. The distal part of the ampoule bears a round and stalked diverticulum. Gizzard in 5/6, last pair of hearts in 12. Calciferous glands in 15–17, their size slightly increasing backwards. Excretory system meroic with five or six meronephridia per side. Penial setae are of two types, larger L. 1.1– 1.3 mm, D. 0.02 mm, tip sharply pointed, ornamentation strong spines. Smaller penial setae L. 0.60–0.65 mm, D. 0.01 mm, tip rounded, ornamentation lacking.
Remarks
This species was described by Cognetti (1906) with a unique type of penial setae, therefore previously I placed it in the congica species group ( Csuzdi 1996). An examination of the type material ( MZUT OL 54, OL 55) revealed that the species possesses two different types of penial setae and consequently it belongs in the bolaui species group.
