Type material. Holotype: Ƥ, PHILIPPINES: Luzon Island: Quezon National Forest Park, Cueva Santa, 21 February 1975, leg. P. Strinati ( MHNG, Sys-16). [Cueva Santa is one of the several caves within the Quezon National Forest Park in the tri-boundary of Atimonan, Pagbilao and Padre Burgos, Quezon. This cave is along a trail to Pinagbanderahan Peak].
Diagnosis. The female of S. deelemanae sp. nov. can be easily recognized by the convoluted duct system of the internal genitalia.
Etymology. The specific epithet is an eponymous noun in apposition, in recognition of academic achievement of Dr. Christa Deeleman-Reinhold, a prolific arachnologist on Southeast Asian’s spider fauna.
Description. Female (holotype): Total length 10.52. Prosoma 4.80 long, 3.32 wide. Opisthosoma 5.72 long, 3.06 wide. Leg formula: 4123; I 8.90 (2.60, 1.32, 2.52, 1.62, 0.84); II 8.26 (2.52, 1.20, 2.22, 1.58, 0.74); III 8.00 (2.80, 0.82, 1.72, 1.86, 0.80); IV 12.24 (3.52, 1.28, 2.72, 3.22, 1.50). Spination. Femora: I d1-1-1, p1-1-0, r1-1-0; II d1-1-1, p0-1-1, r1-1-1; III d1-1-1, p0-1-1, r1-1-1; IV d1-1-1, p1-1-1, r0-1-1. Tibiae: I v2-2 -0; II v0-2-0; III p1-0-1, r1-1-0, v2-2 -2; IV p1-1-0, r1-1-0, v2-2 -2. Metatarsi: II v1 -0-0; III p1-1-1, r1-1-2, v1-1 -2; IV p1-1-2, r1-1-2, v2-2 - 2.Eye size and interdistances: AME 0.14, ALE 0.12, PME 0.10, PLE 0.10; AME–AME 0.16, AME–ALE 0.14, PME–PME 0.22, PME–PLE 0.16, ALE–PLE 0.12; MOA 0.24 long, anterior width 0.36, posterior width 0.36.
Genitalia ( Figs 38–40 View FIGURES 38 – 42 ). Epigynal atrium shallow, its border ill-defined. Copulatory orifices slit-like, situated anteriorly on lateral margin of atrium. Insemination ducts not plugged, anterior bursae sclerotized, elongate-oval, widest in the middle, connected to spherical spermathecae via convoluted ducts. Fertilization ducts lanceolated.
Natural history. The type of S. deelemanae sp. nov. was collected directly from its retreat situated at in a humid cave.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality (Fig. 43).
