Genus Necallianassa View in CoL Heard & R.B. Manning, 1998

Remarks. Heard & Manning (1998) transferred Callianassa truncata to the new genus Necallianassa (type species: Necallianassa berylae Heard & Manning, 1998), but later Ngoc-Ho (2003) pulled the species back to Callianassa . Sakai (2010) reassigned it to Trypaea Dana, 1852 with a great change of the concept of Trypaea . Finally, Poore et al. (2019) revalidated the status of Necallianassa , assigning Callianassa truncata to the genus again along with the type species N. berylae and Callianassa acanthura Caroli, 1946 .
