Oxysarcodexia flavipes Lopes & Tibana, 1987 View in CoL
( Figs 117–119 View FIGURES 117–122 )
Oxysarcodexia flavipes Lopes & Tibana, 1987: 335 View in CoL ; Argentina, Tucumán, Cerro , San Javier. Holotype male and one male paratype in MNRJ.
Diagnosis. Male. Length 6.0 mm. Postocular plate with silvery pollinosity. Ocellar bristles well developed. Thorax with pale golden pollinosity; abdominal T5 without golden pollinosity, only yellowish on ventral margins. Three well-differentiated post-sutural dorsocentral bristles. Apical scutellar bristles absent. Legs yellowish brown. Abdomen with silvery pollinosity. T3 with 1 pair of lateral marginal bristles, T4 with 1 pair of median marginal and 1 pair of lateral marginal bristles. ST5 with deep median cleft with margins almost parallel and with pilosity and bristles along margins. Cercus straight in lateral view, with normal (i.e., as broad as median area), obliquely cut apex. Cercus with bristles ventrally only in distal third. Cerci with distal third narrower than middle part in posterior view; diverging. Pregonite of same width from base to apex; unicolorous. Postgonite with expanded base and sudden narrowing at apex; unicolorous. Distiphallus with smooth ventroapical margin, conical apex, sinuous dorsal outline, small dorsoapical swelling and lateroapical expansions. Vesica symmetrical, with lateral lobes; distal lobes reduced, rounded, sclerotized, with spines on both dorsal and ventral surfaces.
Remarks. This species is distinctive by its yellow legs, 3post-sutural dorsocentral bristles and conical distiphallus apex. Oxysarcodexia flavipes presents a small groove in the juxta, which delimits the membranous dorsoapical area from the tip of the distiphallus. The vesica is conspicuous and the main branch presents bristle-like processes medially on its dorsal surface. Lateral lobes are present on the vesica and the distal lobes are reduced, rounded and covered with spines ( Figs 117–119 View FIGURES 117–122 ) ( Lopes & Tibana 1987). These features, together, are quite characteristic for distinguishing this species. See also remarks under O. augusta . Female unknown.
Distribution. NEOTROPICAL. Argentina (Tucumán).
Biology. Unknown.
