The species has been reported from Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Brazil, Guyana, French Guiana, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Cuba ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan 1985; Salazar Escobar 2005; Sanborn 2006b, 2007a,b, 2009). The species has been reported from Valle, Punta Soldado in Colombia ( Salazar Escobar 2005).
