Eutubercularium sakalava View in CoL — Hollier & Wesener 2017: 62 (list)
Type: Male, repository unknown (see Remarks).
Type locality: Madagascar, Nosy Be, coll. Voeltzkow.
Generic placement: Dalodesmus voeltzkowi nom. nov. is the type of the generic names Pterodesmus de Saussure & Zehntner, 1901 (by monotypy; preoccupied by Pterodesmus Cook, 1896 ) and Eutubercularium Brölemann, 1916 (by original designation). Both genera were synonymized with Dalodesmus Cook, 1896 by Jeekel (1965). Hoffman (1980) rejected the synonymy of Eutubercularium , while Enghoff (2003) accepted it. Pending restudy of the Malagasy Polydesmida we follow Enghoff (2003). Dalodesmus is placed in Dalodesmidae Cook, 1896 .
This species [Polydesmus (Tubercularium) sakalava ] first received another name; it is because of an error of correction in the cited article that it has been substituted for that of sakalava . As a result, here we have two consecutive species with the same name") and "Le nom de cette espèce [Polydesmus (Phymatodesmus) sakalava ], étant depuis longtemps gravé sur la planche, n'a pu être changé. Voir la note à propos du Tubercularium sakalava " (p. 95; "The name of this species [Polydesmus (Phymatodesmus) sakalava ], having been engraved on the plate for a long time, could not be changed. See note about Tubercularium sakalava ").
The sakalava View in CoL homonymy was overlooked by subsequent authors ( Brölemann 1916; Attems 1940; Jeekel 1965; Hoffman 1974, 1980; Enghoff 2003), including Hollier and Wesener (2017). In the latter publication (p. 62), the female in the collection of the Muséum d’histoire naturelle, Geneva, labelled Phymatodesmus sakalava is the type of Polydesmus (Phymatodesmus) sakalava . The type of Polydesmus (Pterodesmus) sakalava may be in the Senckenberg Museum, Frankfurt or in the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris.
