(fig. 2D, E)
Leuckartiara octona View in CoL — Schuchert, 2007: 321, fig. 53.
Material examined. Stn. CHN — 25.iv.2011, S07 (5 m): a colony originally growing on a crab carapace; numerous stems, with and without gonophores, were subsequently removed from their substrate; several newlyreleased medusae were also obtained (MHNG-INVE-79602).
Remarks. For description, synonymy, and additional data, see Schuchert (2007).
Distribution in Chile. The polyp stage was previously recorded from the Strait of Magellan ( Jäderholm 1917, Vervoort 1972); the present record is from Chaihuin. The medusa is widely distributed along the entire Chilean coast ( Fagetti 1973, Palma et al. 2007).
World records. See Schuchert (2007).
No known copyright restrictions apply. See Agosti, D., Egloff, W., 2009. Taxonomic information exchange and copyright: the Plazi approach. BMC Research Notes 2009, 2:53 for further explanation.
