Morphology of Corydalis ternatifolia View in CoL and its related species
The morphology of Corydalis ternatifolia and its related species is compared ( Table 1; Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ). The stigma of C. ternatifolia was rounded, with eight simple marginal papillae, two pairs of prominent lateral papillae, and two pairs of basal geminate papillae ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 : a1); this morphology coincides with the description of the species provided in the protologue ( Su & Lidén 1997). The shape of the stigma and number of geminate papillae, as well as other morphological characters such as shortly and narrowly vaginate petioles, linear capsules, and seeds ca. 1.5 mm long with large flabellate caruncle, are similar to those of C. temulifolia (type species of C. sect. Asterostigmata ). The flower morphology of C. ternatifolia resembles that of C. incisa (type species of C. sect. Incisae), as the petals (including upper, lower, and inner ones), spur, and nectary are of similar length and shorter than those in C. temulifolia ; apex of the outer petals is emarginated, claws of the inner petals are slightly longer than the limb, whereas the outer petal apex of C. temulifolia is rhombic-acute, and the claw of inner petals is about twice as long as the limb.
