Diagnosis. This species is more similar in overall appearance to the sympatric C. (Chlaeniellus) nigrosuturatus Mandl, 1978 comb. n. The two species can be diagnosed easily by the pubescence of tarsa and lateral margins of pronotum, i.e. C. nigrosuturatus has tarsa smooth, and yellow lateral margins. Species with constant elytral pattern ( Figs. 16–17 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ).

Description. Body length 9–10 mm. Dorsal surface with dense yellow pubescence. Coloration of head and pronotum metallic green with golden overtones on the disc. Mouthparts, antennomeres and legs yellow. Antennomeres IV–XI slightly darker. Elytra metallic green, with constant elytral pattern. The yellow lateral band narrow, strictly limited to two external intervals ( Figs. 16–17 View FIGURES 13 – 18 ); apical part of band narrow. Ventral surface black, iridescent, except wide lateral band on all abdominal segments.

Head moderately punctate, smooth and shiny on vertex. Pronotum dull, strongly microreticulate, very deeply and densely punctate at the base, less one diameter distance from each other. Anterior half of pronotum less densely punctate. Lateral margins narrow. Hind angles right. Elytral striae narrow, finely punctured. All intervals flat.

Aedeagus long, narrowed to pointed apex ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 28 – 36 ). Apice with hook.

Distribution. Afganistan, India (Himachal Pradesh; Uttarakhand), Iran, Nepal, Pakistan.
