Abies delavayi Franchet (1899: 255) View in CoL
[ Pinaceae ].
Lectotype (first-step: Liu, Monogr. Abies: 141. 1971; second-step: designated here):— CHINA. Yunnan [“ Province du Yun-nan: Sommet du Tsang chan, au dessus de Ta-li ”], 3500–4000 m, 1884-6-20, J.M. Delavay 1210 (P barcode P00748883 [image!]), Isolectotype: P barcode P00748884 [image!].
Note: Franchet (1899: 255) in the protologue of Abies delavayi mentioned only the collection of Delavay “n. 1210” from Yunnan. Liu (1971: 141) indicated that “The type (Delavay no. 1210) is preserved in the herbarium of Museum de Paris , France.”, an effective first-step lectotypification under Art. 9.17. Farjon (2017) later indicated “Delavay 1210” in P as “ holotype ” of this name. There are, however, two specimens of this gathering at P (with barcodes P00748883, P00748884). As Farjon did not effectively select a second-step lectotype (Art. 7.11), we select P00748883, displaying cones, as the second-step lectotype ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
