Prodorsal shield 50 (42–50), 59 (57–60) wide; with broad, round and long frontal lobe; prodorsal shield design with a very short median line, complete admedian and submedian lines; an “M” mark can be detected by the connection of the median line with rear part of the admedian lines; admedian lines connected with sinuous submedian lines by transverse lines forming network. Scapular tubercles ahead of rear margin, 18 (18–20) apart, scapular setae (sc) 8 (7–8) projecting ahead and centrad. Coxal area with short lines and granules; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 10 (8–10), proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 32 (25–32), proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 45 (40–50). Prosternal apodeme present. Legs: Leg I 43 (42–43), femur 11 (10–11), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 12 (11–12); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual seta (l'') 25 (23–25); tibia 10 (9–10), paraxial tibial seta (l') 8 (7–8), seta located 1/2 from dorsal base; tarsus 7 (6–7), tarsal seta (u') 5 (4–5), tarsal empodium simple, 5-rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Leg II 39 (38–39), femur 10 (9–10), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 12 (10–12); genu 5 (4–5), antaxial genual seta (l'') 10 (7–10); tibia 7 (7–8); tarsus 7 (6–7), tarsal seta (u') 5 (4–5), tarsal empodium simple, 5- rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 53 (45–53) annuli, with short-striped microtubercles except about 1/3 dorsal annuli smooth from rear, with two subdorsal ridges which extend from 8th annulus fade at 1/3 from rear, and two short submedial ridges which extend from posterior shield margin combine to a middorsal ridge on 10–12 annuli ending in a broad furrow; ventral opisthosoma with 71 (63–75) microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 37 (35–37) on ventral annulus 12 (10–12); setae d 60 (45–60) on ventral annulus 25 (23–26); setae e 36 (32–36) on ventral annulus 47 (42–49); setae f 32 (32–33) on 6th ventral annulus from rear. Setae h1 5 (4–5). Female genitalia 14 (14–16), 22 (21–23) wide, coverflap with 12–14 longitudinal ridges, proximal setae on coxisternum III (3a) 40 (38–40).

Scapular tubercles ahead of rear margin, 16 (15–17) apart, scapular setae (sc) 10 (8–10) projecting ahead and centrad. Coxal area with short lines and granules; anterolateral setae on coxisternum I (1b) 13 (10–13), proximal setae on coxisternum I (1a) 35 (33– 35), proximal setae on coxisternum II (2a) 47 (45–48). Prosternal apodeme present. Legs: Leg I 40 (38–40), femur 10 (10–11), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 13 (12–13); genu 5 (5–6), antaxial genual seta (l'') 25 (25–28); tibia 9 (9–10), paraxial tibial seta (l') 9 (8–10), seta located 1/2 from dorsal base; tarsus 7 (6–7), tarsal seta (u') 4 (4–5), tarsal empodium simple, 5-rayed, tarsal solenidion tapered. Types. Holotype, female, from Lindera rubronervia Gamble (Lauraceae) , Guan’e Gou, Dangchang County, Gansu Province, China, 33°57'39N, 104°19'45E, September 12, 2005, collected by Zi-Wei Song and Xiao-Feng Xue. Paratypes, 10 females and 3 males, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. Mites are vagrant on the undersurface of leaves, causing no apparent damage.

Etymology. The specific designation guanegounis is from the locality where the host plant and the new species were collected.

Remarks. This species is similar to Calepitrimerus fopingi, Xue, Song & Hong, 2006 d, but can be differentiated by dorsal annuli with short-striped microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in C. fopingi ), prosternal apodeme present (prosternal apodeme absent in C. fopingi ), prodorsal shield design with incomplete median line, shield without dashes (prodorsal shield design with complete median line, shield with dashes in C. fopingi ).
