Montecristo. Cala Maestra, under dead leaves on rock, 5 m, 24.XI.1976, G. Osella leg., 4 exx, MSNV; idem, 1 ex CLV ( Tamanini 1981 as “Montecristo”; Faraci & Rizzotti Vlach 1986 as “[ Isola di Montecristo] 5 exx. Cala Maestra, 24.XI.1976 sotto foglie morte su roccia, l. Osella”; Faraci & Rizzotti Vlach 1992 as “Is. di Montecristo, Cala Maestra, 24.XI.1976, 1 [ex], Osella G. [leg.], Livio Tamanini - Rovereto [collection]; id.,id., 4 [exx], Osella G. [leg.], Museo civico di St. naturale - Verona [collection]”; Carapezza & Faraci 2005; 2007 as “I. di Montecristo, Cala Maestra / 5 [m] / Faraci, Rizzotti Vlach, 1992 / 1976”).
Remarks. This is the only species of Leptopodidae in the Tuscan Archipelago. It is not strictly dependent on freshwaters, inhabiting xerothermic or humid enviroments ( Péricart 1990).
