Description of Komagataeibacter kakiaceti CDK 1.9
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, glistening, and yellowish-white color after 3 days on HS at 28°C. In API 20NE, positive for nitrate reduction and esculin hydrolysis, but negative for glucose fermentation, urease, indole production, arginine dihydrolase, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase. Does not utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucos- amine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain CDK1.9 (= NIBRBAC000502322) has been isolated from fermented vinegar, Cheongdo, Korea.
