Orthocentrus shieldsi species-group
This species group was established by Veijalainen et al. (2014) for eight Neotropical Orthocentrus species: O. anguillae Broad, 2014 and O. shieldsi Broad, 2014 from Brasil, O. concrispus Veijalainen, 2014 from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, O. hispidus Veijalainen, 2014 from Belize, Ecuador and Peru, O. pentagonum Broad, 2014 from Costa Rica, O. scurra Veijalainen, 2014 from Guatemala and Honduras, O. quercus Veijalainen, 2014 from Costa Rica, and O. teres Veijalainen, 2014 from Peru. Another species from Peru— O. ashanica Zwakhals, 2015 was later included in this species group ( Zwakhals & Diller 2015). The group characterised by the thick, curled antennae (most flagellomeres transverse) which are inserted on a distinctly protruding, high shelf (e.g. Figs 13 A, 13 F, 13 G View FIGURE 13 ). Included eleven Mexican species: O. areolatus , O. dorsofuscus , O. fuscipes , O. hispidus , O. kasparyani , O. lostuxtlasi , O. microphthalmus , O. ocampo , O. pentagonum , O. vulgaris , and O. zaldivari .
