Material examined. 1 ♀ México, Veracruz; Est. Biol. Trop. Los Tuxtlas, C 6, MT-II, 155 m, N 18°35′076″, W 95°04′47.5″, no date, leg. M. Madora ( UNAM) ; 1 ♀, Veracruz; Est. Biol. Trop. Los Tuxtlas, C 3, MT-II, Pte- Aula- Lab. EBTLT, 13.V–16.VI.2013, leg. M. Madora ( ZISP) .
Distribution. Ecuador, Peru, Belize; Mexico (Veracruz).
The species is new to Mexico.
Comments. Compared with the other species that have antennal sockets on a high protruding shelf, thick, curled antennae, and whole body not laterally flattened, eyes are setose and face matt, smoothly coriaceous-pustulate, unlike in O. areolatus , O. ocampo and O. vulgaris .
