Material examined. Holotype ♀: México, Oaxaca, Santiago, Comaltepec , 2427 m, N 17.58424°, W 96.49428°; humid oak pine forest, MT, 12–20.VI.2007, leg. H. Clebsch ( UNAM). GoogleMaps

Description. Female. Fore wing length 2.8 mm.

Face medially 1.1 × wider than high; face pustulate and horizontally strigose, eyes not setose, dorsal ridge of face inbetween antennal sockets without a median prominence; face profile almost straight, edge of clypeus slightly impressed, margin straight; antennal sockets on a shelf but shelf not particularly high (Hw/Fp = 6.8); subocular sulcus strongly bent towards occiput; maxillary palp reaching to about epicnemial carina. In dorsal view, head posteriorly concave, temples distinct, about 0.3 × eye width, posterior ocelli distant from eye by 1.3 × ocellar diameter, anterior ocellus separated from eye by 2.2 × ocellar diameter, ocellar-ocular grooves not developed. Minimum distance between antennal sockets about 1.0 × diameter of socket; antenna slender, with 31 flagellomeres which not gradually shortening towards apex of antenna; basal flagellomere 2.2 × as long as wide and about half length of scape; scape nearly parallel-sided.

Mesosoma smooth, polished; mesoscutum anteriorly with distinct notauli; in profile, scutellum somewhat high, metapleuron moderately convex; propodeum with carinae weak, posterior transverse carina present between lateral longitudinal carinae, median longitudinal carinae reduced; lateral longitudinal carinae present as a weak stubs not reaching to spiracles, spiracles small.

Legs moderately stout, hind leg massive; coxae and femora polished, tibiae and tarsi coriaceous-granulate; hind coxa 1.0 × as long as first tergite, hind femur 2.9 × as long as maximum depth, hind tibia 4.2 × as long as apical width; tibiae with scattered spine-like setae; spurs turned up inwards apically; hind claws enlarged.

Wings not particularly narrow; fore wing with areolet closed, large, conspicuously transverse, about 2 × wider than high, with 2rs-m shorter than 3rs-m; second recurrent vein (2m-cu) meeting areolet at apical 3/4; vein Rs bent upwards; hind wing with nervellus intercepted at lower third.

First tergite slender, slightly widened apically, 1.6 × as long as apically wide with spiracles slightly protruding; finely coriaceous, without median longitudinal carinae and transverse impressions. Second tergite 1.3 × as long as apically wide; rugose, polished apically, with rounded posterior transverse groove, all thyridia contrastingly coloured, basal thyridia oval/rectangular, second thyridia present as raised, ovals in front of transverse groove. Third tergite subpolished, basal thyridia large, narrow, oval/rectangular, second thyridia small circular. Remaining tergites smooth and polished. Ovipositor thin, slightly upcurved, without subapical dorsal notch; ovipositor sheath pointed, with setae longer than sheath width and strongly curved, backwards pointing.

Body setose except eyes, pronotum, mesopleuron, metapleuron, scattered on propodeum and posterior sides of coxae and femora.

Brown, except upper face, propleuron, pronotum except dorsally, scutellum, mesosternum anteriorly, mesepimeron, fore and mid legs except coxae and trochanters, hind basitarsus, basal thyridia yellow to yellowishbrown; mouthparts, clypeus, malar space, lower face, vertex except interocellar area, stripes along antero-lateral margins and extending posteriorly as longitudinal stripes across length of mesoscutum, tegula, subalar prominence, fore and mid coxa, all trochanters and trochantelli, and sternites creamy to yellowish creamy.

Male. Unknown.

Biology. Hosts unknown.

Distribution. Mexico (Oaxaca).

Etymology. Named after the enlarged hind claws.

Comments. Compared with the other species that have completely papillate face, antennal sockets on a distinct but low shelf, and glabrous eyes, pterostigma nearly symmetrical and basal flagellomere 2.2 × as long as wide, unlike in O. flavoorbitalis and O. rhombifer ; frontal orbits yellow up to occiput, mesoscutum with distinct longitudinal yellow stripes along notaular lines, unlike in O. elongatus and O. longiventris ; first tergite 1.6 × as long as posteriorly wide without dorsal carinae, mesopleuron mostly brown, unlike in O. hidalgoensis .
