New synonymy. New synonymy based on the study of the ♁ holotype of Hintonosia bismacrocephalus and a ♁ syntype Falsopedilus modestus Pic, 1924 , both found congeneric.

Redescription. Total body length 3.3–4.6 mm (♁), 5.0 (♀). Body elongate, flattened dorso-ventrally. Head opaque to slightly glossy, subcylindrical, flattened to slightly convex in dorsal aspect, anterior part slightly inclined. Mandible weakly asymmetrical. Frontoclypeal suture clearly indicated. Frons narrow to moderately broad. Compound eye large to very large, hemispherical, occupying whole head side (Tempus not present or very short), very strongly, globose protruding from lateral and dorsal outline of head. Interfacetal setae not observed. Head dorsal punctures dense. Antennal insertion at anterolateral margin of frons, at tubercle that is raised or not, not concealed. Antenna long in both sexes, extending beyond mesocoxal cavity. Basal antennomere subcylindrical, short, thickened. Antennomere two shortened, asymmetrical in both sexes. Antennomere three in both sexes more than twice as long as antennomere two, with a tooth, a serration, or a lamella. Antennomeres 4–10 strongly pectinate in ♁, each with variably long lobe. In known ♀♀, antennomeres 4–10 serrate. Terminal antennomere simple, elongate and slightly arched, clavate or fusiform. Terminal maxillary palpomere shortly cylindrical to securiform. Cranial “neck” broad, ½ or more head width measured across compound eyes, progressively (stepless) enlarged from head base. Pronotum short, subquadrate, flattened in dorsal aspect, with lateral dimples. Anterior and posterior margin broadly rounded to subtruncate. Anterolateral margin rounded, posterolateral—obtuse angulate. Lateral margin smooth, subparallel, not or vaguely emarginate anterior to posterolateral angle, devoid of carina in lateral view. Pronotal dorsal punctures dense. Pronotal dorsal setation moderately long. Scutellar shield semicircular to transverse. Prosternum long anterior to procoxal cavity, flat in ventral aspect. Prosternal intercoxal process narrow not raised, procoxa contiguous. Procoxal cavity closed externally, widely open posteriorly. Mesoventrite subtriangular, mesanepisterna separated by anterior margin of mesoventrite. Mesoventral intercoxal process moderately broad, apically rounded, meeting an anterior intercoxal process of metaventrite. Metaventrite as long as wide, trapezoidal, flattened to slightly convex in ventral aspect. Metathoracic discrimen distinct, about a third of metaventrite length. Anterior intercoxal process narrowly triangular, apically emarginate to hold an intercoxal process of mesoventrite. Elytron elongate, dorsally flattened, parallel-sided to slightly widened in apical third. Elytral apices rounded, covering entire abdomen. Apicoventral binding patch present in most species, elongate elliptical, distinctly convex or only marked with sparser, oblique setation. Elytral dorsal punctures generally larger than those on forebody. Metathoracic wings fully developed, functional. Abdomen with five visible ventrites, first three ventrites connate. Intercoxal process of ventrite I triangular, pointed. Surface of ventrites not sexually dimorphic (sex patch not present). Visible ventrite V rounded at posterior margin. Legs moderately long. All tibiae relatively straight. Tibial terminal spurs paired, short, subequal in length. Tarsal formula 5-5-4. Penultimate tarsomere expanded laterally, forming ventral lobe. Pretarsal claws simple, regularly curved, with small tooth in their basal third. ♁ genitalia with aedeagus consisting of tegmen and penis. tegmen divided into two distinct pieces: the basale (proximal) and apicale (distal), subequally long. Lobes of apicale entire, apices turned inwardly. Median lobe moderately tapered, strongly to moderately expanded basally .

Sexual dimorphism. ♀ antenna with less prominent modifications compared to that of ♁.
