Notes. Cryptolaemus montrouzieri , commonly known as the mealybug destroyer, has a worldwide distribution ( Kairo et al. 2013). This coccinellid has been shown to be an effective biological control agent for the control of PHM ( Michaud 2002). In Colombia, it was mass reared and released in the department of Sucre to control outbreaks of PHM in teak, T. grandis plantations in 2009 ( Villarreal et al. 2011; Kairo et al. 2013). Cryptolaemus montrouzieri occurs naturally in the city of Bucaramanga in the department of Santander where it is known to control populations of PHM.
