3. Homogryllacris anelytra sp. nov.
(Map 1, Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 , 7 View FIGURE 7 : G – H)
Male. Body medium. Fastigium of vertex nearly rounded, about 1.5 times as broad as scapes. Eyes ovate; ocelli small and indistinct. Anterior margin and posterior margin of pronotum subparallel, lateral lobes of pronotum trapezoid, longer than high, humeral sinus inconspicuous. Wings absent. Fore and middle tibiae with 4 pairs of movable long spines and a pair of short apical spurs on ventral margin separately; middle tibiae with an inner apical spur on dorsal margin. Hind femora with 6 – 10 inner spines and 4 – 8 outer spines on ventral margin; hind tibiae with 5 – 6 inner spines and 7 – 8 outer spines on dorsal margin, a pair of ventral spurs near apex, a pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs. Ninth abdominal tergite short, trapezoid, apical area slightly curved downwards, posterior margin with a semicircular concavity. Tenth abdominal tergite very short, in the middle of posterior margin with a pair of long and slender processes, basal parts of processes decussate and strongly bent outwards, apical area hooked. Subgenital plate subquadrate, posterior margin with 1 shallowly triangular concavity in the middle. Styli rather short, conical, inserted on both sides of subgenital plate near apex. Cerci long conical, slightly longer than subgenital plate.
Coloration. Body pale yellow. Antennal sockets, base and apex of scape, base of pedicel, and fastigium of vertex with blackish spots; eyes black, inner margin of mandible s black. Seventh to ninth abdominal tergites black. Apical part of processes on male tenth abdominal tergite brown.
Female. Similar to male in appearance and coloration. Body slightly larger than male. Subgenital plate nearly semicircular, basal area slightly expanded, posterior margin emarginate. Ovipositor much longer than hind femur, nearly straight; apex of ovipositor acute.
Measurements(mm). Body: 315.5 – 18.5, Ƥ20.0 – 22.0; pronotum: 33.7 – 4.0, Ƥ4.5 – 5.0; hind femora: 39.5 – 10.0, Ƥ10.5 – 12.5; ovipositor: Ƥ17.0 – 21.0.
Type material. Holotype, 3, Jingdong, Yunnan, 22 August, 2009, collected by Ming Qiu. Paratypes, 1Ƥ13,
the other data as holotype; 1Ƥ13, Gaoligong, Tengchong, Yunnan, 11 August, 2009, collected by Rui-Lian Li. Discussion. The new species differs from the other species in: Wings absent. Apical part of processes on male
tenth abdominal tergite hooked; styli of male rather short, conical. Apical part of ovipositor acute. Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the wings of adult absent.
