Type species: Homogryllacris gladiata Liu, 2007
Generic diagnosis. Body small to medium size. Fastigium of vertex wider than scape, nearly rounded, frons smooth. Eyes ovate, prominent. Ocelli small or indistinct. Pronotum subquadrate, anterior margin broadly rounded, posterior margin truncate, humeral sinus indistinct. Tegmina and hind wings developed or absent, M vein of tegmina simple, free, not united with R vein. Hind wings hyaline. Fore and middle tibiae with 4 pairs of movable long spines and a pair of short apical spurs on ventral margins separately, middle tibiae with an inner upper apical spur. Second and third abdominal tergites with transverse stridulatory teeth on lateral margins. In male: ninth abdominal tergite without processes; tenth abdominal tergite narrow, with a pair of processes; subgenital plate with styli. Ovipositor usually longer than hind femur, almost straight.
