Aphis persicariae Hartig, 1841 View in CoL nomen dubium
Aphis persicariae Hartig, 1841: 370 View in CoL (nomen dubium — Favret et al., 2017: 568, as “ Hyalopterus persicariae View in CoL ”). SYNTYPES: 7 (no field numbers [8.01-8.03]).
Hyalopterus amygdali ( Blanchard, 1840) View in CoL (senior synonym—Börner, 1952: 68).
Specimens. Seven pointed specimens on three pins along with leaf tissue, all lacking specimen labels. Three specimens, one alate and two apterae, mounted to the surface of a single point on a pin. Two specimens, one alate and one aptera, mounted to the surface of a single point on a pin. Two alatae mounted to the surface of a single point on a pin. Leaf tissue on each of the three pins contain white aphid skin casts.
Remarks. Börner (1952) treated Aphis persicariae Hartig, 1841 as a junior synonym of Hyalopterus amygdali ( Blanchard, 1840) , but it has been recognized as a nomen dubium since Favret et al. (2017) completed a synonymic revision of the genus Hyalopterus Koch, 1854 . Further study is necessary to clarify to which Hyalopterus species the name corresponds.
