Comments: Although serious studies have been undertaken to solve the taxonomic problems of Tetramorium caespitum species group in recent years ( Csősz et al., 2014; Steiner, Schlick-Steiner, and Moder, 2006; Wagner et al., 2017), these breakthroughs have generally focused on their species in Europe. We found at least 4 undescribed species that related strongly with T. caespitum (Linnaeus) in the study area. No any morphometric based key suitable for Turkish T. caespitum species group for now.

Comments: Although the type locality ( Syria) of T. lucidulum Menozzi, 1933 is near the studied area the material shows some differentiation when we compare with the type in Antweb CASENT0904824. Frons is not as extremely narrow and frontal carinae not as distinctly curved as in like the type of T. lucidulum . Moreover, L. Borowiec stated that all European materials collections identified as T. lucidulum (including Greek material) are misidentified and probably belong to undescribed taxon or taxa (Lech Borowiec; personal communication). The final status will be clarified after the revision of T. semilaeve species complex.
