Adult male. Forewing length 3.5–3.8 mm (n = 6). Color in alcohol brown. Antennae and legs yellow. Forewings brown, each with costal margin region and pterostigma dark brown, nigma and thyridial spots brown ( Fig. 52 View FIGURES 52 – 53 ). Anterolateral glandular processes of sternum V thick with length (0.39 mm) 1.5 times length of this segment ( Fig. 53 View FIGURES 52 – 53 ).
Male genitalia. Segment IX with anterodorsal margins sinuous, ending in protuberant lobule, slightly rounded, covered with 2 patches of small spikes in lateral and dorsal views ( Figs 54, 55 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ). Tergum X with ventral and anterior margins heavily sclerotized, dorsal margin convex, and apically upturned to acute tips with subapical edges undulating in lateral view ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ); divided mesally in 2 regions about 0.8 times its length, each region acute apically and with subapical protuberance on mesal margin in dorsal view ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ). Inferior appendages 2-segmented; basal segment long, with distal region enlarged, apical segment short, 0.4 times length of basal segment, covered by setae, blunt apically ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ). Phallus with tubular phallobase, basal section enlarged, forming angle of about 110º with distal region; dorsomedian region with distinct periphallic cap with dorsal margin smooth and convex in lateral view ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ). Internal sclerotized region of ejaculatory duct short (about 1/3 phallobase length), with apex ending in broad, upturned hook in lateral view ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ), divided longitudinally in 2 parts in dorsal view, their ends separated apically ( Fig. 56 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ); endothecal membranes with median region somewhat expanded when phallus retracted, without sclerites ( Figs 54, 56 View FIGURES 54 – 56 ).
Female and immatures. Unknown.
Diagnosis. The male genitalia of S. roraimense sp. nov. differ from those of the other species described in the subgenus by the shape of the genitalia, where tergum X has a sclerotized anterior margin. The male is similar to that of S. pampeana with its phallus simple in form and with the internal sclerotized portion of the ejaculatory duct short and divided longitudinally in 2 parts, the phallus of S. roraimense , however the apex ending in broad, upturned hook in lateral view. The new species male is also similar to those of S. pseudolobata and S. dentisserrata sp. nov. by having the phallus with a distinct dorsal periphallic cap, but differs from them due to the smooth convex margin of this cap.
Biology. Adults of this species were collected with light traps placed on the shore of the Rio Branco, in the same places where the larvae of S. helenae sp. nov. were collected.
Distribution. Brazil, Roraima State.
Etymology. The name roraimense is related to the state of Roraima, where the type specimens were collected.
