Material: 42 specimens: Al Jubayhah 7.III.1981 (2ɗ, 3Ψ); Al Mafraq 19.III.2001 (1Ψ); Dayr Alla 18.II.2002 (4Ψ), 4.III.2002 (17Ψ), 27.III.2002 (15Ψ).
Distribution: Palaearctic: Canary Is, Egypt, Italy, Morocco, Spain.
It appears to be a common bee fly. It was collected from the flowers of Palestine chamomile, Anthemis palestina Reut. (Compositae) and Poppy Papaver syriacum Boiss. & Blanche (Papaveraceae) .
