Hymenochirus Boulenger, 1896 View in CoL
This genus is well known from aquaria ( Kunz 2007; Rabb and Rabb 1963), but wild populations are poorly known. Similarly, knowledge of the taxonomy of this genus is poor, with only four species currently listed ( Frost 2021). The distribution of this genus is concentrated around the forested zone of Central Africa, from southern Nigeria to eastern DRC, and possibly westernmost Uganda.
