Habitat:— Freshwater, planktonic or epiplanktic.
Description: —Trichomes solitary. Macroscopically, the cultures are bright blue green ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ). Thrichomes blue green, straight or slightly curved, few-celled, constricted at cross walls, without sheath or gas vesicles. Cells longcylindrical, 1.6‒9.4 μm long, 1.3‒2.6 μm wide, 1.1‒6.8 L/W ( Table 1). Cell content homogeneous. Thylakoids with 6 parallel layers ( Fig. 2D, E View FIGURE 2 ).
